Solicitation #: FP802-130218 Closing Date: November 14, 2013 Time: 2 pm [Ottawa Time] This requirement is for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Title: DFO COLINET WAREHOUSE, NEWFOUNDLAND REMEDIATION AND BUILDING ENVELOPE PROJECT Scope of work The work consists of the following in Colinet, NL: • Removal and re-instatement of existing components to accommodate the new work; • Installation of new shoring walls and bracing, as noted on the drawings provided; • Removal and replacement of reinforced concrete foundation wall and slab, as noted on the drawings provided; • Removal and replacement of roofing components (shingles, sheathing, ice/water shield, eaves trough) as noted on the site drawings provided. The details scope of work is as per the attached specifications and drawings. Location Work will be carried out at Colinet, NL. Site directions will be provided to the contractor, upon contract is awarded. Commencement and completion The Contractor will commence upon contract award. The work is anticipated to be completed by March 20, 2014 after contract award. A completion schedule is to be provided with the Schedule of Prices. Drawings Details of the work are shown on DFO Drawings. The following is a list of the drawings, which are attached to, and form part of, these specifications: List of 9 Drawings Existing Floor and Shoring Plan Floor Plans Building Sections Shoring Elevation and Section New Wall Sections Wall Elevaton and Section Sections and Details Roof/Soffit Details General Notes The above drawings will be supplemented by manufacturer’s shop drawings. The Contractor shall examine all drawings in advance of construction and shall advise the Engineer of any apparent errors, discrepancies or inconsistencies, in order that the Engineer can provide instructions clarifying the design. The Contractor shall also advise the Engineer of any discrepancies or apparent inconsistencies between the drawings and the specifications, in order that the Engineer may clarify the intent of the Contract. Site inspection - There will be no formal pre-award site meeting. Security requirement - There is no security requirement for this project. Mandatory requirement • The minimum acceptable amount of Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance is $2,000,000.00 per occurrence. All tenders must be accompanied by confirmation from the tenderer’s insurance company that the required insurance will be available upon contract award; • The tenderer must provide tender security, at the tenderer’s own cost, in accordance with the document entitled "Tender Security Requirements" as Bid Security is required for bids over $100,000. Under these circumstances, the Tender and original signed Bid Bond must be delivered to the Closing Location prior to closing date. • Note: All tender securities will be returned except that of the successful tenderer, which will be retained until the successful tenderer has provided contract security.
