Description of Work:
Shared Services Canada (SSC) is rationalizing the procurement of all network related equipment.
The Network Solutions Supply Chain (NSSC) initiative was implemented to meet SSC’s mandate to consolidate these procurement activities, leveraging economies of scale and reducing duplication. SSC has now been mandated to explore how procurement of network cabling equipment procurement and implementation can be merged into the existing vehicle to further streamline procurements related to network projects. This is a new area of standardization and consolidation for this vehicle, and it is expected to create additional efficiencies which will further strengthen the security of government information technology.
The key areas of transformation are:
Consolidation of cabling equipment supply and support services into the current vehicle for network equipment supply and support services.
Modernization of overall network related procurement.
This work requires that the current processes related to the existing cabling related contract be analyzed in relation to the current NSSC vehicle and that a service management approach and methodology is applied to how these requirements can be adapted to the NSSC framework while meeting the business and technical requirements for cabling services. The development of these process models and associated requirements will require that SSC engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand and document their specific business requirements.
The key activities of the initial phases of this initiative are summarized below:
Development of enterprise-wide strategic business requirements.
Define and document strategic and tactical goals for the enterprise.
Define the business and operational model.
Define a service management methodology.
Preparation of all necessary documentation for the procurement of these services.
Assist in the evaluation of proposed solutions.
Bidders must submit one (1) resource against this category.
