Description of Work:

The GCNet Project will provide SSC and its partners with inter-building connectivity across Canada at more than 3,500 sites. The WAN services provide connectivity to data centers and sites that are geographically dispersed and vary considerably in size and in the business functions they support.

SSC and its 42 partners utilize 50 different networks for inter-building connectivity. The GCNet WAN Services Project will, over a seven year transformation period, replace all of the existing contracts with a single national network service for Internet Protocol (IP) network connectivity, for legacy transport connectivity services and an international service.

Objective and Scope

The objective is to acquire the services of an IM Architect Level 3 consultant. The resource will oversee the specification, collection, organization, integration, and central management of the GCNet project’s strategic data; carry out analyses and produce reports in support of the financial, technical, and service level objectives of the project for SSC management and for other project teams representing different disciplines and responsibilities within the project. The IM Architect will also structure and prepare the project data for information integration and exchange with suppliers and Partners, and for phased import into, and integration with, SSC’s enterprise inventory, configuration management, accounting, and other systems.
