The Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) is a division of the Science Branch of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO), Canada. Currently, CHS has one Xylem/Sontek M9 River Surveyor, a vessel mounted acoustic doppler profiler, in operation. To ensure that we have an immediate backup in case of instrument failure, we require an identical instrument to ensure interoperability with vessel mounting hardware and existing software and instrumentation.
