Education - Request for Qualification - Resource List for Complex Education Needs Tribunal Members

The purpose of this RFQ is to establish a Resource List of highly skilled Pre-Qualified Vendors to form a Complex Education Needs Tribunal (CENT), on an ad hoc basis, to respond when a referral is received from a school board. Under Section 40(1) of the Education Act, a board may determine that a student requires specialized supports and services that cannot be met in an education program that may be provided by the board under any other provision of this Act. In such instances, the board may refer the matter to a Complex Education Needs Tribunal (CENT). This Request for Qualifications supports Alberta Education’s legislated requirement, Education Act, Section 40, to establish a Complex Education Needs Tribunal when a board passes a motion confirming they are unable to provide the specialized supports and services required in an education program for a specific student. Vendors will be reviewed for compliance with the mandatory requirements identified in section 3.3 and Appendix A to this RFQ. Pre-Qualified Vendors will be eligible to respond to subsequent Project Invitations for Services. All Pre-Qualified Vendors will remain pre-qualified on this Resource List until August 29, 2025, or until such time the Ministry exercises its right to deactivate the Resource List.
