Description
The City of Brooks 2020 Stormwater Management Infrastructure Master Plan (SW Plan) and the 2019 Raw Water Irrigation Infrastructure Master Plan have identified several vulnerabilities in the City of Brooks current stormwater management system, leading to a high risk of overland flooding and trapped lows at several locations in the City of Brooks. Additionally, parameters of concern in Stafford Lake, a major stormwater pond, were found to surpass guideline values as outlined in Alberta Environment and Protected Areas’ Standards and Guidelines for Municipal Waterworks, Wastewater, and Storm Drainage Systems.
The objectives of this project are to mitigate flooding and associated impacts in the high-risk area of Garrow Ave by investigating, designing, and then implementing improvements to the City of Brooks stormwater infrastructure and to enhance treatment of stormwater to be used in the local irrigation system to reduce the risk to public health.
Contract duration
The estimated contract period will be 32 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2025/03/11.
