City of Calgary - Request for Proposal - 25-1685 9TH Avenue Downtown Underpass Stormwater Lift Station Improvements Engineering Services

The City is seeking a qualified consulting firm to provide multi-disciplinary engineering services for the 9th Avenue Downtown Underpass Stormwater Lift Station Improvements Project. It consists of four (4) lift stations which are up for lifecycle improvements. The purpose of this project is to address safety and operational concerns to meet current and future servicing requirements. At the same time, to ensure compliance with the latest edition of applicable Federal, Provincial, and Local regulatory and technical requirements as well as the industrial best practices. The successful completion of this assignment will require a wide range of technical expertise in hydraulic modelling, drainage feasibility study, engineering assessment, and design of stormwater lift stations, as well as qualifications for safety and hazard investigation, risk mitigation, cost analysis, and multi-criteria decision analysis. This project anticipates the following Phases: 1. Phase 1 – Downtown Underpass Drainage Study with Feasibility Analysis of Alternative Drainage System Upgrade, Lift Station Engineering Assessment, and Lift Station Upgrade Options Evaluation and Conceptual Design 2. Phase 2 – Preliminary Design 3. Phase 3 – Detailed Design and Construction Procurement Preparation 4. Phase 4 – Construction Engineering Support 5. Phase 5 – Commissioning and Post-Construction Support Unless otherwise stated in the Agreement Letter, the initial award under this RFP will be for Phase 1 of the requirements, and progressing to subsequent phases will be subject to approval by The City and Consultant performance.
