    Description
The Province requires Contractors to perform all-inclusive Heli-GPS Surveys of Mountain Pine Beetle (MPB) infestations within the Province of Alberta. The data collected from these surveys will be used to help guide the level one MPB ground survey and control program. **Multiple Contracts may be awarded under this RFP** This RFP advertises survey areas within the Calgary, Edson, Whitecourt and Slave Lake Forest Areas. If successful, a Proponent will enter into a Contract with the Province and will start surveying within one or more of the survey areas advertised in this RFP. Because the density of infested trees within survey areas is unknown, the Province may, at its discretion, change the boundaries of the survey area or add new survey areas to the Contract that include any survey area advertised in this RFP. Additional survey areas are not guaranteed; however, if such additional survey areas are added to the Contract, then the rates for the Services for the additional survey areas may be adjusted by the Province based on reasonable increases in the Contractors costs, as demonstrated by the Contractor and accepted by the Province, acting reasonably. The completion of these surveys on time is extremely important. If in the opinion of the Province, it appears that the Contractor may not complete Heli-GPS surveys within a survey area by the end of the service delivery period, the Province may have a different Contractor or provincial employees complete portions of the survey area. Services for these projects are provided on an hourly basis; there is no guarantee that a contractor awarded a contract to provide Services in a survey area will be the exclusive contractor for services within that area. See “Documents” section on APC for maps of the service locations requiring services under this RFP.
