    Description
Notice is hereby given that Provincial Health Service Authority intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide Rapid Molecular Multiplex Syndromic Testing Platform and related services for BC Children’s and Women’s hospital for a term of one (1) year at an estimated value of $81,000.00.
     Inter Medico
    50 Valleywood Drive
    Markham, ON
    L3R 6E9
In accordance with applicable trade agreements PHSA, as agent for the Health Authority(s) has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:
    • the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:
    1. due to an absence of competition for technical reasons.
    • The Children’s and Women’s Hospital is currently looking for a second platform for critical infections diagnosis. The Quiastat is the only other Health Canada approved platform aside from the Biofire System already owned and in use by the site.  Having a second assay that can provide rapid diagnosis for the same syndromes/pathogens minimizes the risk of not being able to provide these critical services in the event of a consumable supply disruption for the current platform.
