Description
The Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (SDPR) funds medically essential equipment and devices for clients. This funding is available under the Employment and Assistance Act and Regulation, and the Employment and Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Act and Regulation. The Ministry must ensure requests for equipment are medically essential and least expensive, appropriate.

Health Assistance (HA) staff administer this funding and adjudicate client requests for medically essential equipment and devices by reviewing assessments and prescriptions received from third party occupational or physical therapists, medical practitioners and/or nurse practitioners.

To support HA staff to administer this funding and adjudicate client requests, the Ministry wishes to contract with a health professional(s) (such as an occupational therapist, physical therapist or orthotist etc.).

Contract duration

The estimated contract period will be 46 month(s).
