Description
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food envisions a strong and competitive B.C. seafood processing sector that contributes to regional economic development and food system resilience. The project will inform Government’s comprehensive understanding of the seafood processing sector, including its current state, key challenges and opportunities, and recommend an action plan to support the viability of the sector. The successful proponent will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the sector and its key subsectors including capacity assessment, gap/needs assessment, and develop collaborative actions for government and industry to increase the flexibility and viability of the sector in order to become more competitive and resilient over time. The project will additionally identify and describe recommendations to future proof B.C.’s seafood processing sector for anticipated supply chain needs and trends. The term of the project is approximately six months and must be completed by March 24, 2023. The budget of the project is a maximum of $100,000.00 including services and eligible expenses.
