Description
City of Prince George (the “City) is seeking proposals from qualified suppliers to provide the data network designed to current best practice/standards for network observability, security, and management.
The City’s data network has become more difficult to monitor/administrate and is starting to become a security risk due to aging network equipment. A large percentage of the data network equipment is currently at the end of life or will be entering end of life over the next year or two.
To create a data network with better network observability, security and management capabilities, it should utilize current standards which meet these requirements. Listed below are highlights of some of the standards being sought:
• Centralized data analysis.
• Rapid detection and root cause analysis.
• Telemetry data collection.
• Scalability.
• Ability to administer security updates efficiently.
The Proponent awarded the Contract as a result of this RFP will be the preferred vendor for any further equipment purchases with respect to the network for a period of five (5) years on an as-required, non-exclusive basis. The City will obtain quotes for any future purchases and will proceed if the quote provided are within budget and acceptable to the City, The City reserves the right to seek quotes from other suppliers.
A Proponents’ meeting will be held on February 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. (Pacific Time), via Microsoft Teams, see details below. Attendance is optional. It is suggested that Proponents review the RFP carefully before attending the conference call. Questions will be allowed at the Proponents’ conference call.
