BC Timber Sales, Kootenay Business Area, may be tendering a Tree Planting contract in the Boundary Timber Supply Area. Due to the location of this proposed contract, seasonal weather conditions may prohibit viewing at the time of the advertisement. A pre-viewing package for Tree Planting in the Boundary Timber Supply area is being made available to allow for prospective bidders to view sites prior to the tender advertisement expected sometime in mid-November to mid-December.
The information provided in this package is considered to be in draft form and is intended to provide an overview of the potential contract that may be advertised. The
information is subject to change. A complete tender package will be available at a later date.

Questions and Answers
There will be no Q&A for this pre-viewing package as it is only intended to potentially provide opportunities for site viewings prior to the tender package becoming
available for bidding. Detailed location maps for the blocks in the planting program, a block description sheets, and basic known safety information is being provided in the
pre-viewing package.

Known Field Safety Hazards on this Contract
Ministry staff and contractors, while planning and developing this project, have identified the following known field safety hazards associated with this project. Note this list
does not identify routine safety hazards associated with forestry operations:
• Danger trees within and or adjacent to treatment area
• Rolling rock and slash debris on steep slopes
• Water bars and/or cross ditches on roads accessing treatment areas
• Industrial and recreational traffic on roads
• Presence of wildlife, i.e. bears, ticks, etc.
• Probable wet and slippery conditions
• Uneven ground conditions including slash and site preparation treatments
• Probable use of ATV’s
