    Description

    PART 1 – ADVANCE CONTRACT AWARD NOTICE (ACAN)

    An ACAN is a public notice indicating to the supplier community that a department or agency intends to award a contract for goods, services or construction to a pre-identified supplier, thereby allowing other suppliers to signal their interest in bidding, by submitting a statement of capabilities. If no supplier submits a statement of capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, on or before the closing date stated in the ACAN, the contracting officer may then proceed with the award to the pre-identified supplier.

    PART 2 – DEFINITION OF THE REQUIREMENT

The purpose of this work is to support interpretations of surficial sediments for assessing regional post-glacial climatic and permafrost conditions.

    The work will involve the following tasks:

    Preparation of sediment samples for luminescence dating analysis.
    Conducting mineralogical and luminescence analysis of the samples.

These reports/literature must demonstrate techniques that have been developed and applied to optical dating of samples derived from Canadian Shield-derived sediments, including Archean age gneisses and migmatites;
    3.1.2. The Supplier MUST demonstrate the ability to apply, modify and test optical dating laboratory protocols including requirements for quartz and feldspar minerals that apply separation methods, pre-heats, aliquots and anomalous fading tests of samples derived from Canadian Shield-derived sediments;
