    Nature of Requirements:

    The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement.

    The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) Health Services requires the services of an Infectious Disease Specialist (IDS) at multiple institutions within the Pacific Region. This includes Matsqui, Pacific, Mountain, Kent, Kwìkwèxwelhp Healing Village, Mission (medium), Mission (minimum), William Head and Fraser Valley Institutions.

    Objectives: to provide and actively participate in the coordination of essential infectious disease services to the incarcerated population in federal correctional institutions within the Pacific region.

    Deliverables:

    1.0 Patient care:

    i. The Contractor (IDS) must provide integrated, trauma informed, culturally appropriate essential infectious disease services, as requested by the Project Authority, in accordance with the National Essential Health Services Framework, including any amendment to this Framework issued by CSC during the contract period and any optional period if and when exercised by CSC.

    ii. These services include, but are not limited to, the following:
    a) Assessment of all referred clients
    b) Consultation
    c) Diagnosis and treatment
    d) Follow up (e.g. Reports, results, referrals, etc.)
    e) Written submission of consultations’ opinion and recommendation to the referring physician (Patients’ Most responsible institutional Physician)
    f) Occasional telephone/email consultations
    g) Urgent health care, including referrals to the appropriate community hospital for emergency medical treatment (Conditions that are likely to deteriorate to an emergency situation or impair the individual's capacity to carry out everyday activities are deemed "urgent").

    iii. The Contractor (IDS), in their role, as the infectious disease specialist, must manage all aspects of healthcare services for those inmates under their direct care, including coordination of care provided to inmates by other practitioners and specialists to ensure continuity and integration of care. This includes, but is not limited to, approval of all recommendations made by healthcare providers outside of CSC.

    2.0 Telephone calls

    i. Telephone calls are payable at a set rate per month, as indicated in Annex B – Basis of payment. The Contractor (IDS) may be called for reasons such as, but not limited to, critical laboratory reports, unexpected significant changes to patient conditions, routine medication re-orders, treatment initiation, etc.

    Any conditions for participation of suppliers not specified in solicitation documentation: none.

    Duration of Contract and Time Frame for Delivery:

    Period of the Contract: The Work is to be performed during the period of 2025-06-01 to 2026-05-31 with the option to renew for three (3) additional one-year periods.
