Description of Work:
One (1) Special Advisor is needed to help support the workload of the DG office as well as to provide direct support to the DG.
The employee will be asked to undertake the following tasks:
• Providing advice and guidance, as well as hands-on assistance, in the development and implementation of the department’s Grants and Contributions (Gs&Cs) Transformation initiative
• Reviewing and providing advice regarding bureau direction, planning and performance
• Advising on and developing documentation that will help communicate effectively to various audiences
• Supporting the DG in engagement with key interlocutors, including ministers and deputy ministers’ offices, other parts of the department, central agencies, and other government departments
• Identifying, researching, developing and suggesting the implementation of approaches and procedures that will help to deliver on the bureau’s mandate
• Reviewing documents on current and emerging issues, including briefing materials, position papers, speaking points, policy research, corporate reporting, media information and presentations for consistency with departmental and Bureau positions
