The Service Provider will be responsible for conducting inventory and assessment work of terrestrial and aquatic habitat conditions in accordance with Ministry policies (e.g. Environmental Reference for Highway Design, MTO Environmental Guide for Fisheries, etc.). The Service Provider will be responsible for pre, during and post-construction monitoring of various MTO projects within Central Region. Consultants will also be required to develop and implement terrestrial and aquatic habitat mitigation, enhancement and compensation/offsetting/overall benefit measures. The Consultants will also be required to obtain Species at Risk clearances (e.g. permits, registrations, letters of advice), and carry out SAR monitoring and reporting under the federal Species at Risk Act (SARA) and the provincial Endangered Species Act (ESA). The Service Provider may also be required to review, provide input, and assist with the preparation of Ministry environmental policy, technical documents, and contract specifications.
