    Supply of #1 Quality Hay
    PROJECT SUMMARY: The RCMP Musical Ride Branch has a requirement to obtain #1 quality Hay on an as and when requested basis.
    Mandatory Specifications
    • Hay must be analyzed for content a minimum of three (3) times a year or at the request of the Stable manager, and a copy of the analysis is to be provided to the RCMP Stable manager. The RCMP samples must be analyzed at the contractor’s expense by a laboratory enrolled in a check sample program recognized by Agriculture an Agri-Food Canada
    • Hay must be free from dust, contaminant, weeds and foreign material/matter
    • Hay must consist of at least 90% Timothy
    • Resulting Hay analysis must be within the following range
    o Protein 10% to 13%
    o Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF) 32% to 39%
    o Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) 45% to 55%
    • Delivery must be made within twenty-four (24) hours from receipt of Order Request form. Deliveries must be made Monday through Friday between the hours of 08:00 and 14:00
    • Small and large square bale deliveries must be unloaded by contractor and placed in the RCMP feed shed. The small square bale must weigh between 40 and 60 pounds each and the large square bale size must be 4’x4’x10’ in dimension and weigh approximately 1,000 pounds each
    • Each load of hay will be inspected by the RCMP upon delivery and unacceptable bales will be set aside and the supplier will replace these bales within two (2) working days at no additional costs.
    • Weight Bills must accompany each delivery.
    This requirement is subject to the following Trade Agreements:
    • North American Free Trade Agreement – NAFTA
    • Agreement of Internal Trade – AIT
    • Agreement on Government Procurement – World Trade Organization (AGP-WTO)
    The Responsive Bid with the lowest evaluated price will be recommended for award of a contract.
    The initial contract period will be from date of award to March 31st, 2014 with an irrevocable option to extend for two, consecutive option periods of 12 months each.
