Warkworth Institution Flooring Repairs to WW08 & WW31
This requirement: The Correctional Service of Canada, Warkworth Institution requires flooring repairs to buildings WW08 & WW31.
Trade agreement: Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT),
Tendering procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid.
Competitive Procurement Strategy: lowest priced compliant bid.
Set-aside under the Procurement Strategy for Aboriginal Business: This procurement is not subject to any set-asides for Aboriginal Suppliers.
Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: This procurement is not subject to a Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement.
Security Requirements: This contract does not include security requirements but requires CPIC for entrance to the Institution. Winning bidder will be escorted at all times.
Nature of Requirements: The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement.
Objectives
The Correctional Service of Canada requires services of a qualified contractor for the repair of existing terrazzo tile flooring located in various locations throughout Warkworth Medium Security Institution.
Background
The embedded metal door track for the sliding barrier doors within the accommodations units 1-4 has corroded allowing salt, water, and miscellaneous debris to penetrate the floor causing the existing terrazzo tile floor to heave at the identified locations. This poses a tripping hazard at these locations.
Scope of Work
- Remove approximately 40ft² sections of damaged terrazzo tile flooring as required, at six (6) identified locations within each of the four accommodations unit (24 locations total) (Exact sqft area to be confirmed at site visit), and replace with new one component, polymer modified resurfacing mortar (Sika Mono Top-622 or equivalent) install as per manufacturer’s installation instructions. Existing tile removal is to extend two feet on either side of barrier.
- Remove and replace existing embedded sliding door track in affected area with new track of equal specification.
Contractor shall provide a product data sheet for approval by Project Authority.
