    This requirement is for the department of Health Canada.

    Title:

    Front-of-package (FOP) Nutrition Symbols- Directory and Compendium of FOP symbols, Food Label Mock-ups and revision of FOP Symbols

    Background:

    A graphic design firm, with experience in developing symbols for food products and food label mock-ups is required to develop and refine Health Canada’s (HC’s) proposed Front-of-Package (FOP) nutrition symbol and graphic application guidelines. Food label mock-ups will be developed and printed to be used in consultation and nutrition labelling research studies. A Directory of Nutrition Symbol Formats as well as a Compendium of HC’s FOP Nutrition Symbol templates for label designers (actual-size graphic illustrations for various HC FOP symbol formats permitted by the Food and Drug Regulations) that will be used by industry will also be required.

    Scope:

    The graphic design firm may provide services in the following areas over the next 2 fiscal years (2017-2018, 2018-2019).

    Overall tasks may include the following:

    1) Overall project management, work plan, and reporting;

    2) Development and refinement of HC’s proposed FOP nutrition symbols and graphic application guidelines;

    3) Development and refinement of food label mock-ups designs;

    4) Creation of a Directory of HC’s FOP nutrition symbol formats;

    5) Creation of a Compendium of HC’s FOP nutrition symbol templates for designers.

    Estimated Value:

    $90,000.00 plus applicable taxes

    Ownership of Intellectual Property:

    The Crown will retain IP ownership.

    Security Requirement:

    Unscreened contractors must be escorted by an employee or Commissionaire at all times when visiting GoC facilities. Each resource on site must hold a security level of “Valid Reliability Status”

    Mandatory Requirements:

    1.  

    The proposal MUST include:

    1. Name of the each team member;
    2. Proposed role;

    A resume/curriculum vitae (CV) for each proposed member.

    M2. Samples of work

    The proposal MUST include three (3) projects that the bidder has created that are similar in scope to the requirements in the statement of work.

    • The name of client organizations and samples of designs MUST be included.
    • Indicate how each project is similar in scope to the requirements in the statement of work.

    M3. . Work Experience

    The bidder team MUST have a combined work experience of:

    • At least three (3) years (36 months) within five (5) years at the time of bid closing similar in scope to the requirements in the statement of work.

    Selection Methodology:

    The highest combination of technical and financial scores will be used to determine the winning bidder.
