    Background

    Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) requires the installation of two new Aid to Navigation (ATON) towers at the sites known as LL366 – Jackstraw Shoal and LL371.2 The Punts. The existing towers are to be removed and disposed of at an appropriate facility. Intent is to construct the new towers in the area currently occupied by the existing towers. The new towers have been fabricated by others in anticipation of construction and will be provided to the Contractor at the CCG Designated Staging Location (DSL). Existing adjacent facilities (i.e. osprey platforms, landing facilities) if present are to be maintained in their current configuration.

    Description of Work

    Work under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the provision of all labour, materials, and equipment required to:

    .1Mobilize to the sites;

    .2Design and construct foundations of suitable structural capacity to support the intended loads of the ATONs;

    .1Bidders are instructed to assume the installation of foundations as detailed in Appendix B3, Contract Drawings.

    .3Transport the ATON from the CCG DSL to the sites;

    .4Install the ATONs upon the completed foundations; and,

    .5Remove and dispose of the existing towers.

    The following works are to be undertaken by others and are hereby excluded from the work of this contract.

    .6Fabrication of the new towers;

    .7Application of marine coating systems; and,

    .8Supply and installation of all appurtenant electrical equipment at each location.
