    This is neither a call for tender nor a Request for Proposal (RFP), and no agreement or contract for the procurement of the services stated above will be entered into solely as a result of this Letter of Interest (LOI). This announcement does not constitute a commitment by Canada.  Canada does not intend to award a contract on the basis of the noticeor otherwise pay for the information solicited. Any and all expenses incurred by industry in pursing this opportunity, including the provision of information and potential visits, are at industry's sole risk and expense.
    
    Bidders should note the security requirements of the upcoming solicitation process and request sponsorship as soon as possible from the Contracting Authority if they do not have the required security clearances.  The security sponsorship process often takes a long time and Canada will not delay the start date of the Contract to wait for a bidder to obtain their security clearance.
    
    The Department of National Defence requires a Task Authorization Contract (TAC) is to conduct Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) risk management, risk mitigation and site characterization activities at legacy sites and other property owned by the Department of National Defence located throughout Canada.  The term of the contract will be from 1 January 2017 until 31 December, 2019.  The value of the requirementis estimated at approximately $16,100,000 for all three contracts, including applicable taxes.
    
    Activities conducted under this TAC may include (but are not limited to) UXO avoidance, signage installation, UXO investigation activities including wide area assessments and hard prove outs, geophysical surveys, communication and institutional control, surface and subsurface clearance, subcontracted consultant support to UXO services, and all associated project management and reporting activities.
