The Department of National Defence (DND) has a requirement for the establishment of standing offer for the rental of  backhoes, dozer tractors, front end loader and tracked excavators for the Training Establishments of 5th Canadian Division Support Base (5 CDSB) Gagetown located in Oromocto, New Brunswick.  

The specifications of the equipment required is as follows:

Item 1 Backhoe

Up to 3 x 4x2 wheeled tractor\backhoe with a min. hp of 73hp, 0.18 cu metre rear bucket, 0.76 cu metre
front bucket, a min. digging depth to be 14.5 feet and swing pivot of 180°. Vehicles must have:
(i) Sufficient light front and rear for night work;
(ii) Rotating yellow beacon lights;
(iii) Turn signal lights; and
(iv) Cab on chassis.
(vi) Must come with spare parts (i.e. spare bucket teeth, pins and grease nipples)
(vii) Must include a chart or notice if equipment requires special fluids. (i.e. synthetic
oils)

Item 2:  Dozer tractor 

Up to 2 x dozer tractor full tracked low speed 251 to 350 net fly-wheel hp ROPS (roll over
protection structure) cab w/angling blade and 3 shank ripper, sufficient light front and rear for night
operations and cab on chassis.

Item 2: Dozer tractor

Up to 2 x dozer tractor full tracked low speed 131 to 150 net fly-wheel hp, ROPS cab angling
blade w/winch and drawbar, sufficient light front and rear for night operations and cab on chassis.

Item 3 Front End Loaders

Up to 2 x Front End Loaders (FEL) 4x4 - with a min. of 120 hp and a max of 144 hp, bucket cap of 2 -3.5 cu yd. (must have capability of summer or winter buckets), 9 - 10 foot dump clearance, upon request fork attachments equivalent to 6 or 8 feet in length. Vehicles must have: 
 
(i) Sufficient light front and rear for night work; 
(ii) Rotating yellow and or blue beacon lights; 
(iii) Turn signal lights; 
(iv) Cab on chassis; 
(v) Slow moving vehicle triangular sign must be on equipment, displayed at the rear of the  vehicle. 
(vi) Must come with spare EIS parts (i.e. spare bucket teeth, pins and grease nipples) 
(vii) Must include a chart or notice if equipment requires special fluids. (i.e. synthetic oils)

Item 4: Tracked Excavators

Up to 6 x Tracked Excavators equivalent to a 315 Caterpillar, 160 Hitachi model, Case 9020B,
Hyundai 160, Komatsu PC150LC, Link Belt 2700 quantum or Daewoo DH170-111 with a .46 - 1.15 cubic yard bucket, and or ditching bucket attachment, (if required with thumb attachment) digging depth of up
to minimum of 19 feet to 22 feet, minimum 95 hp to maximum 114 hp, and swing pivot of 360 degrees.
Sufficient lights for night operation, SAE Standard controls and Cab on front of chassis.

Item 4: Tracked Excavators

Up to 6 x Excavator equivalent to a 320 Caterpillar BL, EX 200LC-5 Hitachi model, Komatsu
PC200-6, John Deere 200LC or Hyundai Robes 200LC model (if required with thumb attachment) with a min of .59 cu yd to a 2 cubic yd bucket, digging depth of up to min 21 feet - 23 feet, hp of min 128 - 140 max and swing pivot of 360 degrees. Sufficient lights for night operation, SAE Standard controls and Cab on front of chassis.

Item 4: Tracked Excavator

Up to 1 x 325bl cat, 270lc John Deere, case 9045b, Hitachi ex 270lc-v, Link belt 3900 quantum,
Komatsu PC250lc-6, Volvo ec280 or Hyundai Robec 290lc or equivalent, must have a 360° turn, hp of min 168 - max 196, digging depth of min 21.5 feet to a max of 25 feet, bucket size of min .85 cu yd to a max of 2.50 cu yd and upon request must be able to supply a thumb attachment. Sufficient lights for night operation, SAE Standard controls and Cab on front of chassis.



The work to be performed is detailed in Annex A.  

There is no security requirement with this request.
