    Background
    
    Each year, the National Combat Ration Program (NCRP) produces Individual Meal Packs (IMPs) that are used for training exercises, deployed operations or in emergency situations when the use of fresh rations is not possible. The IMP consist of various food and non-food items packaged in an overwrap bag.
    
    The IMP components are shipped to the Assembler whose task consists of inserting all the individual components inside the overwrap. All combat ration component Contracts state a specific delivery period to ensure timely receipt and inspection of all components. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to ensure there is sufficient product to sustain the first assembly period and maintain the assembly line.
    
    Statement of Requirement
    
    The Department of National Defence (DND) has a requirement to purchase retort pouch meals to be delivered to an Assembler as part of Individual Meal Packs (IMPs):
    
    i. Baked Beans;
    ii. Beans and Wieners;
    iii. Breakfast Patties;
    iv. Hash Browns and Bacon;
    v. Sausage and Hash Browns;
    vi. Scalloped Potatoes and Ham;
    vii. Beef Macaroni;
    viii. Beef Ravioli;
    ix. Chicken Pesto Pasta;
    x. Spaghetti and Meatballs;
    xi. Beef and Vegetable Stew;
    xii. Chicken and Vegetable Stew;
    xiii. Chili;
    xiv. Indian Chicken;
    xv. Poutine;
    xvi. Shepherd’s Pie;
    xvii. Smoked Meat in Mustard Sauce;
    xviii. Pulled Pork;
    xix. Fruit Cocktail;
    xx. Sliced Apples;
    xxi. Sliced Peaches;
    xxii. Sliced Pears;
    xxiii. Date Square; and
    xxiv. Tortillas.
    
    Period of Contract 
    
    The period of the Contract begins on the date the Contract is awarded and ends 1 year later.
    
    Trade Agreements
    
    The requirement is subject to the provisions of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA).
    
    Canadian Content
    
    The requirement is subject to a preference for Canadian goods.
