    Public Works and Government Services Canada has requirement for the replacement of the existing low slope roof systems on the lower and roofs at the Joseph A. Ghiz Building.  Construction to include: mobilize all labour, equipment, and materials necessary to carry out the work of this contract. Upon completion of the work, demobilize all equipment and unused materials from the site, clean the site of all debris and repair any damage caused by the work as per the drawings and specifications.  All work is to be performed in accordance with the plans and specifications for PWGSC Project Number R.103601.001 forming part of the bid document. 
    
    The Contractor shall perform and complete the Work in a phased approach. There are two phases and are completed as follows:
    The work identified in the contract as Phase 1 must be completed as follows:
    1. The new roof assembly up to and including the cap sheet membrane must be installed by no later than November 13, 2020.
    2. All other items (metal cap flashings, cleaning, and demobilization) must be completed by no later than December 1, 2020.
    The work identified in the contract as Phase 2 must be completed as follows:
    1. The work must begin by no later than May 15, 2021. 
    2. The work must be completed by October 31, 2021.
    
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT:
    It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site and examine the Scope of the Work required and the existing conditions.  There will be an optional site visit September 18, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.  Bidders are asked to meet at the Joseph A. Ghiz Building (Front Desk), 275 Pope Road, Summerside, PEI.  Bidders must also provide a copy of an official form of photo identification such as a driver’s license or passport. Although not mandatory, all bidders wishing to submit a tender for this work are encouraged to attend to become familiar with all aspects of the work.
    Note: Contractors interested in participating in the site visit are required to register with the Contracting Authority in advance by e-mail at edward.johnston@pwgsc.gc.ca by no later than 4:00 pm on September 17, 2020. The Contracting Authority will assign a specific time slot. The contractors representative must not have travelled internationally in the past 14 days, must not have symptoms of COVID-19, and must respect physical distancing measures while on site. The Departmental Representative will show the site to one contractor representative at a time (one-on-one). All bidder questions will be submitted to the Contracting Authority and answered by solicitation amendment/addendum following the site visit.
    
    The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the following cost category: $1,000,001 to $5,000,000 (HST extra). Standard bid and contract security for the construction is required.
    
    IMPORTANT NOTICE:  Due to the COVID-19 situation, all public tender openings are suspended until further notice. Standard bid and contract security for construction is required.
