This project involves the construction of a new 2 storey wood frame Search and Rescue Operations building with operations and support spaces on the first floor and a living quarters on the second floor. An additional single storey wood frame building on the site has a 3 compartment boat storage and workshop. Site improvements include new site access road, marginal wharf, infilling, secondary sewage treatment plant, paving, landscaping, soil remediation, building and wharf demolition and dredging. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: It is recommended that the bidder or an authorized representative visit the site to familiarize themselves with all existing conditions as they apply to the Scope of Work. All individuals planning to visit the site are required to provide their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The PPE shall include as a minimum safety glasses, safety boots, safety hats and life jackets. Bidders must refer to GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS (GI) - R2710T (2013-01-28) for the Code of Conduct and Certification provisions applicable to this requirement. IMPORTANT NOTE TO BIDDERS: With the introduction of the new Government Electronic Tendering Service (GETS III), there are significant changes to the standard Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) construction tenders. Bidders are responsible for obtaining copies of tender forms and special instructions which are now available directly from the MERX site. Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard paper version. Bidders should note that Attachment 1 (ATT 1) contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized directory structure.
