Trade Agreement: Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT) Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Attachment: YES (MERX) Electronic Competitive Procurement Strategy: Lowest/Lower Bid Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: Jones Falls, ON - lock 40 repairs EQ754-132087/A Hassell, Bob Telephone No. - (416) 590-8270 ( ) Fax No. - (416) 512-5862 Jones Falls, On - Lock 40 repairs 2012 SCOPE OF WORK The Rideau Canal, Jones Falls, Lock 40 Repairs 2012 project consists of work as described in the following: wing: Excavation and backfilling: - Excavating area behind the north wall of the lock to depth of 4 meters, installing clay puddle, geotextile fabric and backfilling. Drilling and Grouting: - Drilling of grouting holes - Complete pressure grouting of the existing stone masonry lock north wall. Stone Masonry works: - Cleaning, raking and pointing back and front of the lock north wall. - Repairing south upper sluice tunnel. Landscaping - Lawn seeding and replanting removed trees. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO BIDDERS Refer to the Special Instructions to Bidders SI01 paragraph 3 (and Appendices 1 and 2) for requirements related to the Code of Conduct for Procurement. OPTIONAL SITE VISIT: There will be a site visit on 19 November 2012 at 10:00am. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit. Interested contractors, please contact the Contracting Officer, Bob Hassell at (416) 590-8270 to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend prior to the site visit. Interested bidders are to meet at Jones Falls Lock station which is located approximately 40 km north of Kingston, Ontario, west of Highway 15, on the Rideau Canal. Locks 40/41/42 are three navigational locks connected in series, which are located immediately downstream of the turning basin. The site visit will take place on site at the Lock station at end of Lock Road. Refer to GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Section 01 11 00 1.4 Location of Work and Direction.. Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance form. Bidders who do not attend or send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation. The duration of work is scheduled to be completed 12 weeks from date of award. Landscaping to be completed in the month of May 2013, completion date to be advised. Closing date: 04 December 2012, 14:00 HOURS. Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard paper version. Tenderers should note that Attachment 1 (ATT 1) contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized directory structure.
