Due to the impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, temporary measures are being taken on-site at the Pacific Region Bid Receiving Unit to encourage social distancing. The health and safety of staff and suppliers remains our top priority. 

Suppliers are recommended to submit bids electronically using the Canada Post epost Connect application for the subject bid solicitation. This service allows suppliers to submit bids, offers and arrangements electronically to PWGSC Bid Receiving Units. This online service enables the electronic transfer of large files up to Protected B level.

Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard paper version. Tenderers should note that Attachment File(s)contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized
directory structure.

Work Description:
Work to be performed under this Contract generally comprises of the construction of the new AAFC Equipment Storage Facility, and the associated work at 510 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, BC.

Work to completed in accordance with the design-build project delivery method. The specifications and drawings included herein provide design intent only. Design-builder shall produce construction documents required to obtain all necessary permits and provide schedules as required by local codes and Authorities Having Jurisdiction. Design-builder shall provide consulting services (architectural and engineering) as necessary to produce construction documents per the outlined design intent. All shop drawings to be reviewed by departmental representative prior to fabrication and construction.

Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work.

Optional Site Visit:
There is NO scheduled site visit. However, there will be an optional virtual bidders’ conference scheduled for Tuesday February 9, 2021 at 11am PST. We encourage all bidders to attend this online meeting.

You may attend either by phone (audio) or by computer (audio and/or video), though we recommend you take advantage of the video as we will present visuals.

The details for logging in to this meeting will be made available to all bidders who express an interest in attending by contacting the Contracting Authority before 3:00 pm PST on Monday February 8, 2021.

Delivery Date:
The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to be completed by December 31, 2021.

Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project is estimated to cost between $100,001.00 and $1,000,000.00.

Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain tender (solicitation) documents through Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Addenda, when issued will be available from Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Firms that elect to base their bids on tender (solicitation) documents obtained from other
sources do so at their own risk and will be solely responsible to inform the tender calling authority of their intention to bid. In all cases, bidders must indicate (when requested) in the space provided on the tender form the identification number(s)of the addenda, if any, that they have taken into consideration for their bid.

Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage physical distancing, the bid receiving unit in Vancouver will remain open but with limited staff and limited hours: Monday to Friday, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (Pacific Daylight Time). 

Public tender openings will be suspended until further notice. Following solicitation closing, bid results will be recorded and may be obtained by e-mailing a request to the address indicated in the Invitation to Tender.
