Upper Battery Rehabilitation Project

Work Description:

The work of this contract comprises of conservation of several concrete structures and fortifications of the Upper Battery of Fort Rodd Hill National Historic Site.  The work includes various types of historic concrete repairs, re-roofing, steel repairs, metalwork repairs, brick masonry repairs, drainage repairs, foundation upgrade and cleaning of various material surfaces to the Upper Battery Structure as shown on the drawings.  The work also includes Warrant Officer’s Quarter restoration including repair of damaged masonry brick and associated pointing as well as reconstruction of concrete sidewalk around the building and in the courtyard and providing new perimeter drain and localized regarding.

Work will be performed in accordance with the contract and as shown on the drawings.  

Site Visit:

Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.
A site visit is scheduled on 05 April, 2017 @ 10:00 am local time.  Interested bidders are to meet at the entrance to the Visitor Centre entrance at FortRodd Hill National Historic Site, 603 Fort Rodd Hill Road, Victoria, BC V9C 2W8.

Delivery Date:

The work must be completed within twenty-six (26) weeks of award.

Value of Project:

To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $2,200,000.00 and $2,300,000.00
