    Title:  Former Trutch Townsite (Site K-19) Remediation 
    Location:  Kilometre 320, Alaska Highway (Former Alignment), BC
    
    Work Description:
    This project will involve the excavation of contaminated soil and disposal at an offsite permitted facility provided by the Contractor, followed by site restoration.  The Contractor must be experienced in handling contaminated material, and have all appropriate health and safety and environmental protection procedures in place.  Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the specifications.
    
    Mandatory Site Visit:
    Bidders attendance at site visit for this project is MANDATORY.  The representative(s) of the Bidder will be required to sign the attendance sheet at the site visit.  Bids submitted by Bidders who have not attended and signed the attendance sheet will not be accepted.  
    
    Arrangements have been made for the site visit to be held on August 09, 2017  10:00 am Mountain Standard Time.   K-19 is situated in the former town of Trutch, BC on the eastern side of the former alignment of the Alaska Highway.  It is located at KM 320 (Mile 202) on the former alignment, at latitude 57º43.908 north and longitude 122º56.564 west. The Site is located approximately 247 kilometres (km) north of Fort St. John and 137 km south of Fort Nelson. 
    From the current highway, turn eastward on Mile 202 Road. After approximately 500 m you will reach a T junction, turn left.
    The Site entrance is approximately 500 m from the T junction, on the right. 
    There is ample parking near the main entrance to the Site, circled on the satellite imagery attached as K19_Figure_001_Site_Location.   
    
    Bidders are responsible for making their own travel arrangements.
    
    Bidders should arrive at the Bidder’s Meeting with PPE (i.e. hard hat, safety boots, reflective vest). 
    
    Bidders should be aware of half-hour to one hour traffic delays due to highway construction north of Fort St. John
    
    Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting Authority, Patty Yi at patty.yi@pwgsc.gc.ca or (778) 919-2578 no later than 24 hours prior to the site visit to confirm attendance.  Bidders should provide, in writing, to the Contracting Authority, the names of the person(s) who will be attending.
     
    Any clarifications or changes to the solicitation documents resulting from the mandatory site visit will be included as an amendment/addendum to the solicitation documents. Submissions provided by Bidders who did not attend the mandatory site visit and did not sign the attendance forms will be considered non-responsive and will not be considered further in the bidding process.
    
    Completion Date:
    Complete the work no later than 2018 March 31.  Includes all final Submittals including as-built documents, the Certificate of Completion, and the Statutory Declaration at Final Completion.

    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $7,000,000.00 to $7,500,000.00.
