    Work Description: 
    The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following items, including all ancillary Work, covered further in the Contract: dredging of contaminated sediment, offsite treatment and disposal, and backfilling. The Contractor must provide personnel with appropriate experience in remediating contaminated sediments. Contractor to provide specialized material handling and sediment dredge design, health and safety, and environmental protection procedures.
    
    Mandatory Requirements:
    -The Superintendent must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the field of Contaminated Sites remediation in the role as a Superintendent.
    -The Bidder must have experience in dredging a minimum of 2000 tonnes of contaminated sediment.

    Mandatory Site Visit:
    Bidders’ attendance at the site visit for this project is MANDATORY.  The representative(s) of the Bidder will be required to sign the attendance sheet at the site visit.  Bids submitted by Bidders who have not attended and signed the attendance sheet for the site visit will not be accepted.  
         
    Bidder and/or a representative of the Bidder must visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for the site visit to be held on September 21st, 2017 at 9:30am PDST at the Victoria Harbour, on the seawall adjacent the navigation beacon at the West Dredge Area as shown on the Drawings.  
    
    Bidders are responsible for making their own travel arrangements.
    
    Bidders must wear personal protective equipment (high visibility vest, and steel toe work boots) to the site visit.
    
    Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting Authority, Janie Leung at Janie.Leung@pwgsc.gc.ca or (778) 919-3273 no later than 24 hours prior to the site visit to confirm attendance.  Bidders should provide, in writing, to the Contracting Authority, the names of the person(s) who will be attending. 
    
    Any clarifications or changes to the solicitation resulting from the mandatory site visit will be included as an amendment/addendum to the solicitation. Submissions provided by Bidders who did not attend the mandatory site visit and did not sign the attendance forms will be considered non-responsive and will not be considered further from the solicitation process.
    
    Delivery Date: 
    -Site Works: Final Completion no later than January 30, 2018 
    -Offsite Treatment and Disposal Works: Final Completion no later than February 28, 2018
    -Completion of the Work: no later than March 31, 2018. Includes all final Submittals including as-built documents, the Certificate of Completion, and the Statutory declaration at Final Completion.

    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost between 
    $7,000,000.00 to $7,500,000.00.
