    Work Description: 
    Work of this Contract comprises the general construction of the Hartley Bay Search and Rescue station. The station is of modular construction. The station is to be constructed on a float provided by the owner. The contractor will take possession of the float at the Steveston mooring piles located at 12740 Trites Road, Richmond BC, V7E 3R8.
    
    The contractor will arrange and pay for transportation to tow the float to a facility of the contractors choosing, where the assembly and finishing of the SAR station will take place. The contractor will be responsible for creating a tow plan to move the float to the building site. The contractor will assume costs for moorage of the float during the construction period. When construction is complete, the contractor will create a tow plan and arrange and pay for transport to deliver the float back to the pickup location.
    
    The Contractor will supply the aluminum structural frame and all of the fasteners required for the assembly of this frame. All fasteners and structural elements necessary to attach the modular building to the float to be provided under this contract. Refer to Aluminium Frame drawings and specification section for frame requirements and composition. Refer to Structural drawings for attachment details. Contractor to provide shop drawings per the specification. The contractor will provide and install the steel floor decking.
    
    The Contractor will supply the steel floor deck, insulated roof, floor and wall panels, associated flashings and all of the fasteners for the attachment of these panels. The contractor will provide shop drawings for review. Construction details will be provided in the contract documents.
    
    The Contractor will be responsible for erecting the pre fab structure and insulated panels.
    
    The Contractor will also supply and install all windows and doors, exterior rainscreen and cladding. All interior construction and electrical and mechanical components to be supplied and installed by the contractor under this contract. Interior finishes including but not limited to flooring, interior wall framing, finishes and painting, millwork and fixtures are to be supplied and installed by the contractor. Refer to individual specification sections and drawings.
    
    The completed building is to be fully commissioned, tested and demonstrated to consultants and Departmental Representative prior to delivery to the Steveston mooring piles. Contractor will be responsible for providing sufficient electrical power at the construction site to accomplish this.
    
    Optional Bidder’s Conference: 
    Contractors are recommended to make inquiries necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the nature and extent of the work.
    
    An optional bidder’s conference is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am PDST. Interested Contractors are asked to call 1-877-413-4790, ID:  2451244.
    
    Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the bidder's conference will be included as an amendment/addendum.
