    Work Description 
    Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) has a requirement for the provision of all labour, materials, services and equipment necessary to carry-out demolition work for the Surrey Federal Operations Building in Surrey, British Columbia.  This generally includes non-structural partial demolition of existing tenant space at the main floor, 2nd and 3rd floors including but not necessarily limited to removal of existing suspended ceiling, walls, mechanical and electrical fixtures, interior windows and doors, millwork, flooring, etc., all as more fully described in the Tender documents.  
    
    The full scope of work is intended to be carried out in 2 phases:
    
    1. Phase 1: Carry out partial demolition to the main floor. The building is fully occupied by existing tenants on the 2nd floor and 3rd floor during the full duration of Phase 1.  Maintain necessary emergency egress and general access to the floors above at all times.  
    2. Phase 2: Carry out partial demolition to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor upon complete move out of
    the 2nd and 3rd floor tenants. The Contractor will be notified 6 weeks in advance of
    handover of the project areas to the Contractor.
    
    Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work.
    
    
    Optional Site Visit
    Interested bidders are encouraged to preview the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work. An optional site visit is scheduled on Friday, April 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m.  Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Attendees are requested to meet at the front entrance lobby of 13130 76th Avenue, Surrey BC, V3W 2V6.

    The work shall commence immediately upon notification by the Departmental Representative after the tenant has moved out (around the end of May 2017) and the project must be completed within eight (8) weeks upon receipt of notification..

    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, the work is estimated to cost around $560,000.00
