    Work Covered by Contract
    This contract covers the following work at the Matsqui Institution, Abootsford, BC: 
    - Provide temporary rental of mobile kitchen for use by the Institution to provide food service during construction.  Including delivery, propane fuel, temporary services, setup and installation, maintenance during construction and decommissioning and return at the end of the project, and related fixtures
    - Provide temporary stairs and ramps for access to the mobile kitchen and serving areas as indicated on the documents.  Includes delivery, assembly, maintenance during construction and disassembly and return upon construction completion
    - Demolish section of exterior wall and window to provide temporary service access during construction.  Maintain opened during construction and restore wall, provide new window and security screen at the end of the project
    - Replace portion of floor finishes in the existing kitchen in a two phased process, includes temporary disconnection and removal and storage of all equipment.  Provide temporary hoarding during phased construction work. 
    - Replace piping of water and sanitary plumbing system, including valves and fittings, provide temporary services for mobile kitchen, provide new missing valves for fixtures
    
    Site Visit
    There will be a site visit on September 15, 2020 at 12:30 pm.  Interested bidders are to meet at PSPC site office at Matsqui Institution by 11:45 am for sign-in and to coordinate the walk through. 
    
    The site visit for this project is MANDATORY. The representative of the Bidder should pre-register with the Contracting Authority before 12:00 pm on September 14, 2020. If you wish to attend, please email Ji-Yon Isabell Park at ji-yonisabell.park@pwgsc.gc.ca.
    
    Contractors shall follow COVID-19 procedures in accordance with National Construction Safety Associations COVID-19 Standardized Protocols (https://www.cca-acc.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/CCA-COVID-19-Standardized-Protocols-for-All-Canadian-Construction-Sites-04-16-20.pdf) which was published in May 2020.  Furthermore, contractors will need to address PPE and hygiene issues as per Worksafe BC regulations, and Provincial guidelines.
    
    Completion of the Work 
    Commence work immediately upon official notification of acceptance of offer and reach Substantial Performance of the Work and Closeout within 18 work weeks from the date of such notification.  
     
    Value of Project:
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project is estimated to cost between $500,001 to $1,000,000,000.

    Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage physical distancing, the bid receiving unit in Vancouver will remain open but with limited staff and limited hours: Monday to Fridays, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (Pacific Daylight Time). 
    
    Public tender openings will be suspended until further notice. Following solicitation closing, bid results will be recorded and may be obtained by e-mailing a request to the address indicated in the Invitation to Tender.
