Please monitor buyandsell.gc.ca closely as changes to bid closing dates may be necessary. --------------------------------------------------------------- Lockport, Manitoba, St. Andrews Lock and Dam, Bridge Deck Replacement and Rehabilitation Work under this Contract comprises general construction of the bridge deck replacement and rehabilitation of the St. Andrews Lock and Dam traffic bridge, located in Lockport Manitoba. Work under this Contract will include, but is not limited to: - Replacement and widening of the bridge deck on the main truss spans; - Rehabilitation and widening of the east and west approach spans; - Bearing replacements at Pier 1 and the east abutment; - Reinforcement of existing steel components and concrete foundations; - Upgrades to existing coatings using zinc metallizing; - Approach widening and re-surfacing; - Pedestrian ramp construction; - Lighting upgrades; - Traffic accommodation during construction, including staged construction; - Establishment and maintenance of deterrents to prevent nesting of protected migratory birds during construction; - As more fully described in the Drawings and Specification. The project is located at the St. Andrews Lock and Dam (SALD) in Lockport, Manitoba. Lockport, Manitoba is a small community located approximately 28 km north of the City of Winnipeg on PTH 44 between PTH 9 and PR 204. The facility is operated and maintained by Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) and consists of a dam, a navigation lock, a fish ladder, and a two-lane traffic bridge. Most operational features of the dam and lock remain unchanged from its original opening date. SALD is a National Historic Site of Canada and has also been designated as a National Historic Civil Engineering Site. Operations of the dam must remain uninterrupted during construction of the bridge deck replacement and rehabilitation works. This federal government procurement implements support for Indigenous economic development. Please refer to the solicitation document for details.
