    OVERVIEW 
    
    The radar tower on the Charron Island is operated by theCanadian Coast Guard of the Fisheries and Oceans Canada. The radar tower is a concrete octagonal shape tower of about 45.7 meters in height connected to a small building also in concrete. The tower and the building were builted in 1989. The tower is built on a very narrow artificial pier about 3 to 4 meters width at the bottom of the tower.
    
    The present required works include to redo the exterior coating (2 layers) including the preparation of concrete surfaces on all the height of the tower, to raisethe footbridge around the radar, to redo  the waterproofness of roofs (tour and building) in elastomer membranes, to replace windows, to repair existing doors, to make repair on the interior finish, and to update the mechanical and electric equipment. 
    
    
    MANDATORY CRITERIA AT CLOSING DATE
    
    The Bidder must enclose a bid security with its bid.
    
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT
    
    There will be a site visit on August 16, 2016, at 13:30. Interested bidders are to meet at the radar tower on the Charron Island (Work site).
    The Île Charron site of the Canadian Coast Guard is in the municipality of Longueuil, near the Louis-Hippolyte-LaFontaine Bridge-Tunnel. To reach the site, take Highway 20, exit 89 (Boucherville Islands) and head toward the Charron radar tower.
    Bidders are requested to send the list of participants to the visit by email at Gabriel.Piras@tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca no later than Monday, August 15 at 13:30.
    
    
    ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COSTS
    
    The budget, for this project, is between 100 001 $ and 250 000 $ (applicable taxes excluded). 
    
    
    CONSTRUCTION TIME
    
    The Contractor shall perform and complete the Work within fourteen (14) weeks from thedate ofnotification of acceptance of the offer.
