    The Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces
    (DND) requires:
    a.  Painting and preservation work to be carried out on board
    the HMCS Calgary in accordance with the solicitation; and 
    b.  To carry out any approved unscheduled work not covered in
    paragraph a. above.  
    
    For specifications, drawings, test sheets, annexes and
    appendices, bidders must contact the Contracting Authority
    identified in the bid solicitation.
    
    The proposed work period is 6 July 2015 to 14 August 2015.
    
    Bidders' Conference:
    A bidders conference will be held at Canadian Forces Base
    Esquimalt on 25 June 2015.  The conference will begin at 10:00
    AM local time.  
    The scope of the requirement outlined in the bid solicitation
    will be reviewed during the conference and questions will be
    answered. It is recommended that bidders who intend to submit a
    bid attend or send a representative. 
    For security reasons Bidders must contact the Contracting
    Authority before the conference to confirm attendance. Bidders
    must provide, in writing, the names of the person(s) who will be
    attending and a list of issues they wish to table at least 3
    working days before the scheduled conference. 
    Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting
    from the bidders' conference will be included as an amendment to
    the bid solicitation.  Bidders who do not attend will not be
    precluded from submitting a bid. 
    
    Optional Site Visit - Vessel:
    Arrangements have been made for a viewing of the vessel.  The
    viewing will take place immediately following the Bidder's
    Conference.
    
    There is a security requirement associated with this
    requirement. For additional information, consult Part 6 -
    Security, Financial and Other Requirements, and Part 7 -
    Resulting Contract Clauses. For more information on personnel
    and organization security screening or security clauses, bidders
    should refer to the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate
    (CISD), Industrial and Security Program of Public Works and
    Government Services Canada

    The sourcing strategy related to this work will be limited to
    suppliers in Western Canada in accordance with Shipbuilding,
    Refit, Repair and Modernization Policy (1996-12-19), subject to
    the Agreement on Internal Trade. The work is exempt from the
    North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), see Chapter Ten
    Annex 1001.2b Paragraph 1, and the World Trade Organization
    Agreement on Government Procurement (WTO-AGP), see Annex 4.
    
    After contract award, bidders may request a debriefing on the
    results of the bid solicitation. Bidders should make the request
    to the Contracting Authority within 15 working days of receipt
    of notification that their bid was unsuccessful. The debriefing
    may be provided in writing, by telephone or in person.
