    The purpose of this amendment is to extend the closing date and invite interested bidders to attend individual meetings.

    Canada is seeking information and or feedback from the Industry and in 
    
    particular vendors with respect to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans potential requirement for the Fisheries Aerial Surveillance Program
    
    The objective of this RFI is:
    
    1) to inform vendors of the scope of DFO’s requirement for aerial surveillance;
    2) to understand the level of interest and experience of the ma
    rketplace in delivering part or all of such a requirement;
    3) to help DFO develop a procurement and implementation strategy for acquiring and implementing such a requirement .
    4) to develop planning estimates (if possible).
    
    This RFI is neither a call for tender nor a Request for Proposal (RFP). 
    
     No agreement or contract will be entered into based on this RFI.  The issuance of this RFI is not to be considered in any way a commitment by th
    
    e Government of Canada, nor as
    authority to potential respondents to undertake any work that could be charged to Canada.  This RFI is not to be considered as a commitment to is
    
    sue a subsequent solicitation or award contract(s) for the work described herein.
    
    Although the information collected may be provided as commercial-in-confidence (and, if identified as such, will be treated accordingly by Canada), Canada may use the information to assist in drafting performance specifications (which are subject to change) and for planning and budgetary purposes.
    
    Respondents are encouraged to identify, in the information they sharewith Canada, any information that they feel is proprietary, third party or perso
    
    nal information. Please note
    that Canada may be obligated by law (e.g. in response to a request 
    under the Access of Information and Privacy Act) to disclose

    Respondents are asked to identify if their response, or any part of their response, is subject to the Controlled Goods Regulations.
    
    Participation in this RFI and subsequent industry consultations is encouraged, but is not mandatory. There will be no short-listing of potential suppliers for the purposes of undertaking any future work as a re
    
    sult of this RFI.  Similarly, participation in this RFI is not a condition or prerequisite for the participation in any potential subsequent solicitation.
    
    Potential respondents are advised that any information submitted to Canada in response to this Request for LOI may beused by Canada in the deve
    lopment of a subsequent competitive Request for Proposal (RFP). Canada reserves the right to accept or not accept the input from industry, as well as alter, amend, delete or add, in whole or in part, any terms or provisions to or from this RFI.
    
    Respondents will not be reimbursed for any cost incurred by participating in this RFI.
    
    The RFI closing date published herein is not the deadline for comments or input. Comments and input will be accepted any time up to the time when/if a follow-on solicitation is published.

    A Security Requirement Checklist is not required for this Request for Information. However, in the upcoming RFP, the successful Vendor would be required to obtain a Facilities Security Certification. This would involve two issues: obtaining security clearances of flight crew and all thos
    
    e personnel involved in the contract; and also, document safeguarding capabilities to ensure the transmission, sharing andstorage of flight mission data at the appropriate designated level.
