Description
Amendment No.4
The purpose of this amendment is to issue Addendum No.3 which provides answers to Bidder questions.
DFO is seeking availability of a crewed research vessel(s) to conduct science missions; encompassing biomass surveys of fish stocks, marine mammal critical habitat studies, as well as physical oceanography and marine geology. These missions have been ongoing and are part of DFO’s mandates of marine conservation and sustainable use of Canada’s fisheries resources.
The study area includes the waters in the St. Lawrence River and Estuary, Gulf of St. Lawrence, and the Magdalene Islands. The monitoring programs are typically carried out using CCGS Leim. However, the Coast Guard vessel is not operational and an interim strategy is being developed.
One or more Contractors are required to supply Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) with one or more crewed fishing or scientific research vessels to conduct scientific surveys of marine fish and invertebrates in the coastal waters of the Estuary and Gulf of St. Lawrence. These surveys will support fisheries research on the abundance, range, condition and demography of marine fish and invertebrates. Many surveys are based on long-term time series that require follow-up of fishing protocols established over specific periods of time. In addition to fisheries information, oceanographic and benthic imaging data will be collected in select surveys, including vertical CTD profiles and the deployment of fixed and mobile cameras.
Period of the Contract
The period of the Contract is from date of contract award March 31, 2022 inclusive.
Option to Extend the Contract
The Contractor grants to Canada the irrevocable option to extend the term of the Contract by up to one (1) additional one (1) year period under the same conditions. The Contractor agrees that, during the extended period of the Contract, it will be paid in accordance with the applicable provisions as set out in the Basis of Payment.
