Social Research and Demonstration Corporation (SRDC) details
health and social policy research and evaluation
SRDC is a mission-driven, non-profit research organization committed to equity and social justice through high-quality research. We have a multidisciplinary staff, national reach, bilingual capacity, and experience conducting respectful and insightful mixed methods research and mobilizing the knowledge that results from this work. We also know – and are continually learning – how to use anti-oppressive, gender-inclusive, trauma-informed, decolonizing approaches with diverse groups of stakeholders. We also have considerable experience in health services and health policy research and evaluation, having worked for most of the pan-Canadian health organizations. We have specific expertise studying health and social outcomes for 2SLGBTQI+ people and communities as well as those who have recently been decarcerated and are experiencing homelessness (in partnership with the John Howard Society and the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness). However, we do not have specific experience related to the health needs and experiences of women and gender-diverse individuals who have experienced criminalization. We would be very interested in partnering on both the operational and research aspects of this project with those who bring this specific expertise. Moreover, we have some specific ideas to bring re: potential partnerships with academics (e.g., Dr. Fiona Koumoumdijan) and community organizations (e.g., the CCGS, CAEFS, Enchanté, Action Canada, Rainbow Health Coalition).
