Eugene Beaulieu is a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Calgary and is the Director of International Economics Program at The School of Public Policy. He completed his PhD at Columbia University in 1997 and began his appointment in Calgary. He has worked as economist for the Government of Kenya and the Bank of Canada. His research focuses on empirical economics, with an emphasis on economic impact analysis, public economics and international trade. He has held numerous grants and distinctions including the PetroCanada Young Innovators, the Killam Resident Fellowship and he was the Norman Robertson Fellow at the International Trade Canada. Dr. Beaulieu is the founder of the annual Rocky Mountain Empirical Trade Conference in Banff and the Canadian International Trade Study Group.
