JFT is a training and management consulting firm with offices in Canada and Somalia. It was a subcontractor to Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC), a New York-based capacity-building organization from April 2017 to May 2021, for a U.S. Treasury Board grant. JFT advised, trained, mentored, and monitored the Central Bank Somalia (CBS) and Somalia's financial institutions on AML/CFT programs and standards compliance. Jufo Technology (JFT) was responsible for program management, planning, budgeting, and coordination with technical assistance receivers. It planned conferences and training in Mogadishu and other cities in the country. From October 2022 until June 2023, JFT has a subcontract from Alinea International, a Canadian global international development consultancy, to implement TAP-EDM for the CBS and Mobile Money Operators in Somalia (MMO). In addition, JFT trained the CBS supervisors on a risk-based approach to AML/CFT assessment, which is required for correspondence banking relationships. The U.S. and Canada's technical assistance purpose was to connect Somalia to international financial centers since it lost its correspondence banking relationship during the civil wars in the early 1990s. The two grants marshaled financial inclusion for the poor and unbanked persons in Somalia JFT brought gender awareness and highlighted environmental issues. Practical examples included reducing printing paper usage, planting trees, and filling cracks in the land around them.
