• Determine measures of effectiveness, apply risk analysis, analyze, and interpret empirical data, and obtain objective data for acquisition decisions, studies, training evaluations, system comparisons, analytic models, and simulations • Monitor system development to ensure the system design and support characteristics satisfy the operational requirements at the lowest life cycle cost • Develop technical specifications for systems and services to meet client requirements • Oversee the conception, research, development, and acquisition of materiel systems from requirements formulation through the disposal of obsolete systems • Formulate engineering policy and procedures, program documentation, and progress assessments • Coordinate and direct engineering and technical management activities and operations necessary for system conception, development, production, verification, deployment, sustainment, operations, support, training, and disposal • Prepare, evaluate, and implement methods, processes, and techniques that support system design to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability • Perform professional statistical work involving collection, compilation, verification, analysis, and interpretation of data to aid in logistical planning, scientific research, and management control • Design experiments, including selection of the most appropriate models for specific requirements • Control production schedules and maintaining production KPIs.
