Parks Canada Agency (PCA) is seeking the services of a contractor to provide forestry services to remove a 4.8-hectare area of spruce plantation near the maintenance compound (see Appendix A). The objective of this project is to fall all coniferous trees (primarily white spruce) within the delineated planation area, limb and move materials to the compound woodlot so it can be processed for firewood. The end goal is to both return this area to its original grassland habitat (Appendix B: Figure A) and reduce the risk of wildfire to sur-rounding communities. Once work is completed, this area will be free of coniferous trees and associated slash with removals while maintaining any deciduous vegetation onsite, when possible, to re-establish historical grasslands that can be maintained utilizing prescribed fire.

The contract will be for a period of 2 month(s), from 2026/01/12 to 2026/03/31.
