Nursing Services for the Public Health Agency of Canada at Designated Quarantine Facilities in Canada

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) requires a Contractor to provide additional resources to provide nursing services support at Designated Quarantine Facilities (DQF) located near airports in five major cities across Canada: Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.

PHAC requires a Contractor to provide nurses at the DQFs who are Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) or Registered Nurses (RNs). These nurses would be currently licensed and in good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory and professional bodies. All resources will be trained by PHAC to provide on-site management and nursing services. The number of travellers to be held at DQFs is unknown. The Contractor’s resources will support the management and oversight of the DQF as well as monitoring for signs and symptoms of Ebola; and managing the clinical care of the traveller’s physical and psychosocial health. The nurses will also provide resources and supports for travellers lodged in the DQF.
