    Title: Harbour Improvements 2024– Poplar River, Manitoba

    Scope of Work:
    The project involves the construction of a new timber anchor wharf and two new timber floating wharves. It also includes various harbour repairs including timber fender installation, rubber fender installation, timber curbing installation, and harbour sign installation.

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    .1 The work site described in this specification is located at – Poplar River, Manitoba. Poplar River is accessible via winter road and is located approximately 350kms North of Winnipeg.
    .1.1 Note: No all weather road access to Poplar River, MB

    The work under this contract covers:

    .1 Construction and installation of one (1) 2.44m x 3.66m timber anchor crib complete with dead-man anchor, curbing, ladder, pipe sliders, and backfill
    .2 Construction and installation of one (1) 4.27m x 7.92m timber whitefish float wharf complete with bollards
    .3 Construction and installation of one (1) 1.83m x 6.71m principal float wharf
    .4 Miscellaneous harbour repairs including but not limited to, curbing supply and install, fender supply and install, rubber fender supply and install, float re-location and installation, ladder supply and install, gangway grating and wear plate supply and install, metal fence pole removal
    .5 Install SCH supplied Harbour ID sign on fish plant
    .3 The work to be done by the Contractor under this Contract shall include the furnishing of all superintendence, overhead, labour, materials, equipment, tools, supplies, insurance, and all things necessary for and incidental to the satisfactory performance and completion of all work as specified herein. All work to be done in accordance with details shown on the accompanying plans and as specified herein.

    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE

    Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials necessary for the completion of the works, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

    Contractors, bidders or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 - Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.

    The Contractor must perform and complete the Work by March 21, 2025.

    *Drawings and specifications will only be shared with the Bidders who qualify during Phase 1, when the ITT document is distributed in Phase 2 of the process.
