Description of the Requirement:
Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is seeking proposals from bidders for the services of a qualified contractor to develop a comprehensive overview and analysis of marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR) technologies. The purpose is to inform environmental, ecosystem, and regulatory considerations for Canada’s climate goals.
The study will assess emerging mCDR techniques, analyze their environmental and ecosystem impacts, and review related regulatory and policy frameworks in Canada and internationally. Key deliverables include a literature review, technical and ecological assessment, and policy recommendations to support safe and effective use of mCDR as part of Canada’s climate strategy.
