    Description
    This contract was awarded to:
    Vineland Research and Innovation Centre

This bid solicitation is being issued to satisfy the requirement of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. It is intended to result in the award of multiple contracts from contract award to March 31, 2025.

AAFC is requesting proposals for the conduct of field trials at various locations in North America to generate efficacy and crop tolerance data and crop samples for the laboratory analysis of pesticide residues and to screen pesticides for the control of pests and diseases for which effective control is unknown. The data generated by these trials will be used in regulatory submissions to the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) for new minor uses of pesticides. The residue trials must be conducted in accordance with OECD Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards or U.S.A. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) GLP and GLP study plans. Field trials for efficacy and crop tolerance must meet the appropriate policies and data requirements of the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA), particularly DIR2013-03, Value Assessment of Pest Control Products http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/cps-spc/pubs/pest/_pol-guide/dir2013-03/index-en… and Value Guidelines for New Plant Protection Products and Label Amendments, http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/cps-spc/pubs/pest/_pol-guide/value-guide-valeur/…).

The requested work covers a number of different crops, pests and pesticides in different crop growing zones across North America.

TO CONDUCT PESTICIDE EFFICACY AND CROP TOLERANCE TRIALS, SCREENING TRIALS AND RESIDUE TRIALS IN ACCORDANCE WITH OECD GOOD LABORATORY PRACTICES (GLP)

    RESIDUE TRIALS
Proponents must submit the “Residue Trial Application Form” (Appendix C, Attachment 2) for each trial for which a bid is being made.

All residue trials must be conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) or U.S.A. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) GLP.

Zone 1 = 1A and Zones 5=5A=5B. Bids are acceptable for locations within the combined zones; however, bids for trials within the specified subzone may be given preference for trial distribution purposes. Note that Zone 7 does not equal Zone 7A.

Residue Trials are available for the following:

    Zone 1/1A
    Carrot

    Zone 5/5A/5B

    EFFICACY/CROP TOLERANCE/ SCREENING TRIALS
Proponents must submit the “Efficacy, Crop Tolerance and Screening Trials Application Form” (Appendix C, Attachment 1) for each trial for which a bid is being made.

Location of the trial must be identified and efforts to ensure sufficient pest pressure at the site must be documented and submitted with the proposal.

Bids for trial locations in differing zones than indicated may be made with documented support that the crop is grown and that the pest occurs in the proposed zone. Preference may be given to locations in the zone specified for trial distribution purposes.
