The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) is to build a new navigational aid structure on Île Caron, Trois-Rivières, Quebec. The “Île de la Poterie” reference light (2083.8), which had been on the island for several years, was removed in 2023 due to access safety issues. A new navigational aid tower must be built to replace the old one and ensure the continuity of service.
The Coast Guard wishes to mandate a specialized contractor to provide the labor, materials, tools, equipment, and services necessary to carry out the foundation work. The work consists of constructing a reinforced concrete foundation on piles and installing the grounding loop.
The work must be completed by March 27, 2026.
