REISSUE OF BID SOLICITATION
This bid solicitation cancels and supersedes previous bid solicitation number 30004493 dated October 20th, 2023 with a closing of November 6th, 2023 at 2:00 PM AST. A debriefing or feedback session will be provided upon request to bidders/offerors/suppliers who bid on the previous solicitation.
Objective:
The Contractor must provide a safe and appropriate vessel with a crane and/or A-frame and winch as well as competent, experienced, and physically fit crew to conduct biological (through vertical plankton hauls) and physical oceanographic (through CTD and water sampling) monitoring up to 30 stations throughout the Strait of Georgia (SoG). This includes retrieving and deploying up to 30 plankton net (BONGO or SCOR net) casts; perform conductivity, temperature, and depth (CTD) casts in the Salish Sea; and collect water samples using Niskin bottles (or mini-Rosette system) at select depths for various chemical or biological measurements.
The Contractor also must provide accommodation and work space for a minimum of two (2) science crew to perform this work. Up to 30 oceanographic stations will be visited in waters around the east coast of Vancouver Island, Strait of Georgia, from Sidney BC (including Haro Strait) in the south up to Comox in the north.
